Omar Sabbag Filho assumes management of LACTEC

LACTEC has, starting this Friday (14/01), a new Managing Director. Civil Engineer, Omar Sabbag Filho assumed leadership of the institute under Governor Beto Richa´s indication and the unanimous approval of the Assembly of Associates, comprising members of COPEL, the Federal University of Parana (UFPR), the Paraná Trade Association (PCA), the Federation of Industries of Paraná (FIEP) and the Engineering Institute of Paraná (IEP).

The appointment is a recognition of his technical capacity and work for the State of Paraná. Despite being in his first elective office as councilman of Curitiba, Omar Sabbag Filho has previously held the public offices of the Municipal Secretary of Public Works of Curitiba, Managing Director of the Department of Planning and Coordination and Managing Director of the Municipal Public Works for Urban Maintenance.

At the Federal University of Parana, Omar holds a degree and Masters in Civil Construction Engineering. He has conducted studies in Urban and Civil Construction Engineering at the Polytechnic School, University of São Paulo - USP. Omar is an assistant professor at the Federal University of Parana, in the Department of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Technology Sector, of the Civil Engineering course with emphasis on Structuring Sanitary Cities. Course coordinator from 2001 to 2004 he was also dean of Administration and Coordinator of Institutional Planning. He chaired the Permanent Forum of Coordinators of College Courses, joined the Board of Education, Research and Extension and the University Council of UFPR.

He is an advisor of the Engineering Institute of Paraná - IEP.

Born in Curitiba, Omar is 57 years old.
